[Birthday] Hermes – Eau des Merveilles Bleue

hermes6

Price: $110 (= Sephora Price)

This was part of a birthday gift my SO gave to me. I love him!

Ever since I took a whiff of this at a Sephora a year ago I was enamored, and now I get to smell like it everyday. Blue also happens to be my favorite color 🙂

hermes1This Eau de Toilette is about the only woodsy & earthy scent I love. It reminds me of the sea shore, of minerals and sea salt and the ocean.

I usually go for full-on citrus or floral (and super mainstream), something like Atelier Cologne’s Clementine California or Viktor&Rolf’s Flowerbomb (and ..Marc Jacobs Daisy)  but this scent is so clean-cut and fresh that I tend to forget about the amber and patchouli.

hermes2Some fragrances remind me of their separate notes, of how they smell like bergamot and lavender before diving into vanilla, but Merveilles Bleue just is what it is. This may be due to my lack of capacity for discerning notes … but I argue that it also says something about how expertly it was crafted.

hermes3Such a pretty cobalt teal.

Made in France.

hermes7Constellations and then some. The bottle reminds me of those snow globes that sparkle glitter everywhere.

hermes8Or a large drop of jewel.

hermes9Or a galaxy.

hermes10The fragrance is not overwhelming like some scents can be. Light and fresh enough to not cause nausea to the general public, but staying power is decent! Better than JoMalone (which has beautiful scents but lasts about ten to thirty minutes tops on my skin).

This is considered unisex, if you’re into that sort of classification.

B612_20181001_181418_697KakaoTalk_Photo_2018-10-20-23-29-48A practical scent, in the sense I can wear this to literally any occasion whether it be a wedding, a classroom, the workplace, or a night out at the bar. Love.
